Types of Materials

The Regional History Department archives two-dimensional materials related to the history of Ketchum, Sun Valley, and Blaine and Alturas Counties.

Books Variety of bindings, self or commercially published, related to the history of the area or to historically significant activities (e.g., skiing).
Ephemerae Time sensitive memorabilia, including calendars, Sun Valley and Idaho promotional material, tickets, programs, old newspapers, reports, maps, deeds, receipts, and bills of lading.
Magazines, Serials, Journals Relevant items to the area, ski history, and mountaineering.
Manuscripts Original, unpublished text of an author's work. Includes personal histories, theses, personal memoirs, legal documents, and speeches.
Oral Histories Personal histories and historical themes on cassette tapes. Some indexes and transcripts are available.
Photographs Photographs of the area and it's people.
Related Materials Clippings from newspapers and magazines about the area and its inhabitants. Also includes special editions for local events.
Sound Recordings Cassette recordings of various content: Northern Rockies Folk Festival, Institute of the American West, radio series, and conferences.
Videos Home and commercial video tapes that relate to the area's sites, people, history, and animals.
