Our Moveable Feast
a Gala Benefit
at The Community Library
Sunday, March 13, 5:30 pm
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Community Library Association and enjoy delectable foods and wine followed by a silent auction at the library's gala benefit, Our Moveable Feast.
Every room of the library will feature gourmet fare evoking the spirit of literature that has won the hearts of readers over the past 50 years of the library's history: Under the Tuscan Sun, Madame Bovary, Joy Luck Club, Papa's Room, Night of the Iguana, and for dessert, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Tickets are $75 each, and all proceeds help to continue free library services at The Community Library.

Savage Summit: The True Stories of the First Five Women Who Climbed K2, the World's Most Feared Mountain and Death on the Mountain: Women of K2 (A National Geographic Film) Jennifer Jordan Saturday , March 19, 7:00 pm |
Writer, producer, and former NPR news anchor Jennifer Jordan will present, speak about, and sign copies of her new book, Savage Summit: The true stories of the first five women who climbed K2, the world's most feared mountain. In addition, Jordan will show the film Death on the Mountain: Women of K2, a documentary she wrote and produced for The National Geographic Channel.
The first five women who summited K2 have all been killed in the mountains and can no longer tell their stories. In her book, Jordan brings their histories, their adventures, and their personalities back into focus while profiling their courage and determination in climbing what is considered the most dangerous mountain in the world.

The Great Books Book Club
Hamlet by William Shakespeare

This month's selection coincides with the Community School's production of Hamlet in modern dress. The book discussion will be led by Community School teacher Fritz Brun, Ph.D. Book club participants may attend the production as a group receiving a discount rate for the performance. Please call the Library for more information.
The Great Books Book Club meets monthly, generally on the fourth Wednesday, at The Community Library and is free and open to all.
