Thursdays, February 5, 12, 19, & 26 at 4:00 pm

A time honored tradition resumes with weekly free showings of classic ski films in the library's lecture room. Each Thursday at 4 pm, enjoy films in which skiing footage, shot in and around Sun Valley, is featured.

Sun Valley has been the setting for a number of ski films, and expert local skiers were often used as stunt doubles and instructors. Films and photos related to Sun Valley are archived in The Community Library's Regional History Department.

St. Thomas Aquinas"The Great Books" Book Club:
The Works of St. Thomas Aquinas
Wednesday, February 25, 7:00 pm

The works of St. Thomas Aquinas initiated a resurgence of universities and an interest in learning. He was one of the leading minds to develop "Scholasticism", the effort to consolidate different branches of learning as an outgrowth of the resurgence of universities and the interest in learning that began to reappear in the 13th century.

He resuscitated many of the classical values, reversing the views of St Augustine. Where Augustine argued humankind was basically corrupt and evil with no capacity to find truth or happiness, Aquinas incorporates Aristotle with Church doctrine asserting our ability to discover truth, find happiness, achieve goodness, and find a positive role for government.

Professor Lee Brown will lead the discussion, which is open to all. The Great Books Book Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month, and all are invited to attend.
