Past, Present, and Future
Kathryn Goldman
Thursday, September 11 7:00 pm

The Boulder, White Cloud, and Pioneer mountain ranges in central Idaho encompass some of the largest roadless areas in the nation south of Alaska. Home to a wide variety of plants and animals, including large species such as mountain goats, bighorn sheep, cougars, and elk, these mountains are becoming an ever more popular, and controversial, destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Kathryn Goldman will present slides and information on the geography and wildlife of the area, its political history, past and present commercial and recreational uses, and the debate surrounding the recent proposal to designate this area as protected wilderness.
