Tacitus: The Histories and The Annals
Tuesday, March 11, 7:00 pm
Corruption, government scandal, and poisoned reputations--some things were as prevalant in second century Rome as they are today. Publius Cornelius Tacitus (historians debate his first name) came from a wealthy family, served in the Roman senate, and wrote histories portraying the Roman emperors in a less than idyllic light.
Gary Hunt of Iconoclast Bookstore will lead the discussion of Tacitus' works, and all are welcome to attend and join the discussions.
