Sun
Valley: The Union Pacific Years
Chris Millspaugh
Thursday,
June 5, 7:00 pm
Chris Millspaugh, Regional History Librarian for The Community Library, will present a multimedia show covering the early days of the Sun Valley Resort and its relationship with the Union Pacific Railroad. Millspaugh, accompanied by recordings of the Hap Miller Orchestra, will show more than 130 historical images of early Sun Valley, from its beginning in 1939 through 1964, when the resort was purchased by the Janss Corporation.
The Regional History Department contains a wealth of information on the history of Ketchum, Sun Valley, and the surrounding area, including print material, photographs, and other items related to Ernest Hemingway and his life in Ketchum.
