Sunk Without a Sound: The tragic Colorado River honeymoon of Glen and Bessie HydeSunk Without a Sound:
The Tragic Colorado River Honeymoon of Glen and Bessie Hyde
Brad Dimock
Thursday, June 7, 7:00 pm

Author, Colorado River historian, and former river guide Brad Dimock delves into one of the enduring mysteries of the Colorado River: What happened to Glen and Bessie Hyde?

The Hydes, a young Idaho couple, vanished during their 1928 honeymoon boat trip down the Colorado. First thought to have been victims of the river, Glen and Bessie have since reportedly been seen amid suspicions of murder, pretense, and intrigue.

In this slideshow  and lecture, Brad Dimock reveals the results of his two year investigation and tells the story of the Hydes, separating fact from fiction and answering questions no one else thought to ask.

Scrambles at 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, Supper at 6:00 pm

The Bigwood Golf Course is hosting its Fourth Annual White Elephant Benefit for The Community Library on Sunday morning and afternoon, June 10.

The format is two 4-person scrambles--you can make up your own team or try your luck being assigned to a team. The event is open to all.

Scamble #1 tees off on a 9-hole shotgun at 10:00 am, and Scramble #2 tees off at 3:00 pm. Each shotgun is limited to 40 players.

Supper for everyone is at 6:00 pm and includes fine French wines and a beef entreé prepared by Peggy and Dave.

Cost is a white elephant item worth $40.00 (e.g., sports equipment, knick-knacks, even an old tux or bridesmaid gown), $40.00 cash, or a combination of the two. Bring a friend and have fun--and help support The Community Library.
