Montana author Pete Fromm introduces Night Swimming, his new collection of short stories about everyday people in the American West. 

Fromm is a two time winner of the Pacific Northwest Bookseller Award, first for Indian Creek Chronicles, his account of seven months living solo in a tent through the winter in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, and again for his short story collection Dry Rain.

Workplace Violence: Prevention and Preparation

The Ketchum Police Department will be hosting a seminar dealing with Workplace Violence. The speaker, Curtis Crum, is currently employed as the Crime Prevention Unit Supervisor with the Boise Police Department. Topics will include:

  • Types of workplace violence
  • Why workplace violence occurs
  • Prevention of workplace violence
  • Dealing with angry people
  • and more.

The Mantra of CompassionTibetan Buddhist Culture, Religion, and Art

Shashi Dhoj Tulachan, Nepali Buddhist Llama and artist, will share his culture, religion, and art through a discussion of everyday life in his Nepali village, presentation of slides, a video, a showing of his exotic paintings, and a demonstration of Tibetan dance in full costume and mask.

Mr. Tulachan's family have been Tibetan Buddhist llamas (religious teachers) for generations, and he was tutored from an early age in painting and sculpture. His works serve as a visual realization of the sacred Tibetan Buddhist doctrine and have become world famous.
