To honor Ernest Hemingway's 100th birthday, The Community Library will present book discussions on the third Wednesday of April, May, and June.

Islands In The Stream

Scholar Joel Bate from the English Department at the College of Southern Idaho leads  this month's talk and discussion of Islands In The Stream, the posthumously published novel Hemingway created from his experiences living in Cuba where he outfitted his fishing boat to hunt German submarines during World War II .

Continuing Ernest Hemingway's birthday Centennial Celebration, The Community Library is pleased to present Martin Peterson's photo exibit documenting the Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author's life in Idaho. June 24 through July 31.

Hemingway In Idaho: Separating Fact From Fiction

Exhibit creator Marty Peterson will speak about his photo exhibit and about Ernest Hemingway's life in Idaho. Why did Ernest Hemingway come to Idaho and what made him move here? What did Hemingway write while in Idaho? Did he write about Idaho? How did Hemingway feel about Idaho? Peterson will address these and other questions, separating fact from fiction.
