Christmas
& Hanukkah StoriesCome one, come all! Idaho's storyteller, Reg Reeves, will tell Christmas and Hanukkah stories to young and old in the Children's Library. Refreshments will be served. Children are welcome to wear their pajamas and bring their "teddies" and "blankies"!

Join Andy Bassich, veteran dog musher, river pilot, and fisherman, as he shares his sometimes hilarious stories of the Yukon bush, its history, colorful characters, and everyday life.

A Life On
The Edge Jim Whittaker Tuesday, December 21, 6:30 PM Jim Whittaker, one of the world's foremost mountaineers, was the first American to summit Mt. Everest, leader of the first American team to summit K2, leader of the International Peace Climb, and the founder of Recreational Equipment, Inc. Join Whittaker as he introduces his new autobiography, Life On The Edge, an account not only of his life's highs but also of his lows, his love of the environment, and of the experiences that shaped the vibrant life he continues to lead today. Lippincott Co., shows Jim Whittaker and Nawang Gombu shortly after their successful climb to the summit of Mt. Everest on May 1, 1963. Americans On Everest is an account of the American Mount Everest Expedition of 1963 led by Norman Dyhrenfurth, and is one of the many mountaineering and related titles held in both the general and Regional History collections of The Community Library. |
